Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about using ICY SIM abroad
Yes, iPhones from the XS onward support eSIM, but your device must be carrier-unlocked. Some devices from Mainland China or Hong Kong only support physical SIMs. To confirm, go to Settings > Mobile Service and check if there's an "Add eSIM" option.
Yes! Many modern Android devices support eSIM — including Samsung Galaxy S20+, Google Pixel 3+, Xiaomi 12T Pro, Motorola Razr, OnePlus 11/12, and more. Check our compatibility list to confirm your model.
Your eSIM is delivered instantly — it's available in the ICY SIM app and also sent to your email right after purchase. Just follow the on-screen instructions to install it on your device.
Absolutely. Most eSIM-compatible devices support dual SIM, so your WhatsApp and primary phone number stay completely untouched. The eSIM is used only for data — your contacts and messages are unaffected.
Yes. You can run both simultaneously. Your device lets you choose which SIM handles calls and texts, and which one handles data. Both work at the same time with no interference.
Log in to your ICY SIM account and go to "My eSIMs". You'll see all your active and past plans with real-time remaining data for your current eSIM.
We recommend installing before you depart — you'll need a Wi-Fi connection to complete the setup. Once installed, simply turn on Data Roaming when you land. Your plan activates automatically and data usage begins from that point.
- Purchase your eSIM plan on the ICY SIM website or app.
- Receive your QR code via email or inside the app.
- Go to Settings > Mobile / Cellular > Add eSIM or Data Plan.
- Scan the QR code with your phone camera.
- Give the plan a name and confirm the setup.
- At your destination, enable Data Roaming and select the ICY SIM plan — done!
