Yes, eSIMs work in Fiji. Our Fiji eSIM runs on the Vodafone Fiji network, and 5 GB for 30 days costs US$12 (about A$17). That’s half of what a week of Telstra or Optus roaming costs in Fiji ($35), and you install it at home before you fly to Nadi.

  • Prices: 1 GB for US$3, 3 GB for US$8, 5 GB for US$12, 10 GB for US$22.

  • A week in Fiji with maps, WhatsApp and photos usually needs 3–5 GB.
  • Signal is good in Nadi, Denarau and Suva; on small outer islands it can be patchy, as with any network.

Which network does a Fiji eSIM use?

Our Fiji eSIM connects to Vodafone Fiji, one of the country’s two mobile networks (the other is Digicel). Vodafone Fiji says it has 4G+ across most of the country, and it launched 5G on 15 September 2025 in Suva, Nadi, Lautoka and Denarau, with more areas planned through 2028. Where 5G isn’t available, you’re on 4G.

Fiji is one of the cheaper places to roam from Australia: Telstra charges $5 a day here instead of $10. For a weekend, roaming is fine. From about four days up, the eSIM costs less, and the longer you stay, the bigger the gap. Roaming does include calls and texts on your Australian number; the eSIM is data only. More detail in our Telstra, Optus and Vodafone roaming guides.

Coverage in Nadi, Denarau and the islands

  • Nadi, Denarau, Lautoka and Suva: the best coverage, and where Vodafone Fiji’s 5G is.
  • Coral Coast resorts: generally covered along the main road between Nadi and Suva.
  • Mamanuca and Yasawa islands: signal varies by island and resort. Many resorts have Wi-Fi, but check before you book if you need to work.
  • Ferries and boat days: expect gaps out at sea and between islands.
